The fabric is thin and is rip stop material that is quick dry, think fishing shirt or hiking pants. It is light weight compared to some other kilts I have. The way they did the pleats is pretty cool, they will stay pleated however it does get crunched up after sitting and standing all day. The detachable pockets are big enough for me to carry everything that I normally would each day, they have a snap button that snaps to the leg so it moves with you. The built in pockets are a nice option if you are going for a sleek look.
